About Berri Txarrak

Berri Txarrak

The band (meaning ‘Bad News’), founded in 1994 in the mountainous town of Lekunberri (Navarre). The release of a six track demo earned them several awards and could launch in turn a successful album (Berri Txarrak) that paved the way for their later works. Especially after the release of their most hardcore album Libre (c) in 2003, the band jumped to Spanish and international prominence (album of the year according to magazine Rock Sound and radio station Euskadi Gaztea), touring several times all over Europe and America, even supporting Rage Against on their 2006 European Tour.

Taldea 1994an sortu zen Lekunberri herri menditsuan (Nafarroa). Sei abestiko maketa kaleratu ondoren, hainbat sari jaso zituzten, baita horri esker album arrakastatsu bat atera ere (Berri Txarrak). Hartara, gero lan gehiago argitaratu ahal izan zituzten. 2003an Libre (c) haien album hardcoreena kaleratu ondoren bereziki, taldeak ospea hartu zuen Espainian eta nazioartean (urteko album onena izendatu zuten Rock Sound aldizkariak Euskadi Gaztea irratiak) Harrezkero, hainbat aldiz ibili dira tourretan Europan zein Amerikan, eta Rage Againsten telonero ere aritu haien 2006ko Europako Tourrean.

Keike Taldea

"...The second concert of the series had a different flair about it. March 6th 2004, also at "the Garage". Raw and straight to the point. Rock'n' Roll!!!

Berri Txarrak and Keike, from EH and Base Defiler and Largeman, from London, came and did not disappoint the punters. With guitar-orientated songs, loads of energy and power, the Rock-heads had a chance to indulge themselves in some head-shaking and heavy-bouncing, at the rhythm of some of the best Basque and English Rock. Tough cookie!!!

Both London bands did a straight forward set that got our motors going. No messing about. These guys are playing the London circuit and have already some songs published. It shows in their music. A real pleasure to be able to have them with us.

Particularly refreshing to see again the lads from Ondarru (Keike, former Paranoia…at least some of them), along with their new female singer, with such a powerful and beautiful voice… These guys are GOOD!!!. In true delirium, the punters sang along with them during the whole of their set…What else could we ask for?

Finally, Berri Txarrak took to the stage and did a very tight, professional set, which perfectly reflected the fact that they are one of the most established Rock bands in the Basque Country. Their latest album, "Libre", is the result of many years of playing around and mastering their music. A true classic, it is. Again, the crowd felt free to join in and kept going for as long as the band did, reaching altogether some moments of true climax, which will be difficult to forget…as difficult it will be to forget this, yet another, memorable event."
